Nutrition

Nutrition to me is one of the most important factors of the beginning of parenting as our eating patterns and choices will in one way or another have a direct affect on our children.

What food we put in to our bodies is like what fuel we put in our cars, we put the right fuel in our car it goes, if not we end at the mechanics in all sorts of trouble.

Research suggests that maternal nutrition has only a very minor effect on milk production although maternal dietary fat intake does not affect the fat content in breast milk, it does indeed influence the composition. So let's say a breastfeeding mother ate a serving of hot chips and another breastfeeding mother ate a salmon salad with flaxseed dressing, both babies would receive high fat content through their breastmilk and put on weight, although only the baby with the mother whom decided to eat the salad with the omega fatty acids would receive optimal brain development.

Scientists are now revealing many mental disorders including Parkinson's disease, depression, dementia and schizophrenia are connected with omega-6 and omega-3 imbalances. Children with attention deficit disorder have also been found to have low levels of DHA in their blood. Omega-3 fatty acids are abundant in DHA.

Daybreaks meals are rich in omega's and fatty acids therefore being best for you and for baby
